a minimal video of sorts for my band’s cover of ‘everything is embarrassing’ by sky ferreira. this ambient instrumental was largely improvised and semi-spontaneously recorded during warm-up sessions for our forthcoming sophomore album. the video is a visual remix of raw footage (featuring the lovely heather ann davis) from an earlier video project of mine.

Further evolution of the TINTAL sound, featuring heavy 808 drums, Moog bass lines, and prominent synth; “There Is Only Teenage Love” evokes long nights sitting alone in your high school bedroom clutching a tear-stained notebook full of terrible poetry.Available as a free high-quality download at Bandcamp.

THERE IS NO TEENAGE LOVE
Sonic Soundscapes for the Post-Everything Era.
There is No Teenage Love (Erik Tokle and David J Dowling) improvise a wash of looped guitars into organic compositions which float, pulse, jangle, collide and linger delicately on the precipice between inevitable entropy and improbable hope.
Debut Album Coming Summer 2012

in another life i played guitar. i recorded this piece of improvised ambience to say goodbye to the 90s. now it reappears in time to say goodbye to the 00s. the track was recorded LIVE, required some looping devices, utilized some boxes that flashed pretty lights, employed *no* synthesizers, and was captured on MINI-DISC (gold star if you remember those).
